Expressed her hope that "you may have great cause for rejoicing this week at your protracted meeting." Of Broadus's children: "Your dear littles ones are well. Annie and little sister have both had colds ... I hope the little change in the arrangement with your friend will not make you sad as it is not an unusual case in matters of much importance. I think all things will work right, I think she gave you decided reason to believe you had won her affection." Broadus married Charlotte E. Sinclair, his second wife, Jan. 4, 1859.
